Three Regional Finals go down to the wire
I'm writing this around 9pm on Election Night, which is an important distinction because by the time you read this, we might know who's going to be President. Or not. So if there's a big shift that makes this moot, don't blame me.
Anyway, I'm distracted and this is going to be quick.
But we had some Regional Finals in soccer and much like everything else, they were really close.
We had three different games go to penalty kicks!
The Greenville boys beat Carrabec 6-5 on penalties to win 8 South. Richmond beat Monmouth 4-1 in penalty kicks to win Boys D South. And then Camden beat Lewiston 4-3 to take A North.
We finish up the soccer Regional Finals today and play the Field Hockey Regional Finals. Assuming, of course, the world isn't ending.
Game of the Day
There's a couple of really nice field hockey games today. Skowhegan is going for their 70th(?) consecutive Regional Title in Field Hockey (that number might be wrong, but regardless it's probably the most impressive record in the state.
Also: Medomak Valley and Greely have boys/girls doubleheaders today. This will be Medomak's first Regional Final in boys soccer.
The rest of today's games are after the jump.
