KP Panic Time?

If you haven't heard, there's some Kristaps Porziņģis injury news and it's...not great.

Porzingis has ‘rare injury’; questionable for G3
Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis suffered what the team called a “rare injury” to his left leg and is considered questionable to play in Game 3.

There's only 1 reported case of this in the NBA (and that was part of a traumatic injury), so no one knows what to expect. I even read somewhere that there were only 32 reported cases of this injury...ever. I find that hard to fathom, but whatever.

Everyone is understandably nervous, but if you want some encouraging news, there's this:

Maybe we can unlock this version of Kornet.

I'm sticking with my pick of Celtics in 5.

I've got two new podcasts for you to check out.

First, if you're tired of the ESPN talking heads who were all picking the Mavs to win in 6, Adam Robinson joined me to preview the Finals (and so far we look pretty, pretty on-point).

You'll also notice we're both wearing some Maine Sting gear, courtesy of Steve Carey (thanks, Steve!).

You can watch that on YouTube or listen on Spotify or wherever you consume podcasts. Make sure you subscribe and leave a review and all that algorithm stuff.

I also spoke to UMaine distance runner Connor Daigle, who took up running to get in shape for basketball season (how many of us did that?) and fell in love with the sport.

‎Show The Maine Basketball Rankings Podcast, Ep UMaine Distance Runner Connor Daigle - Jun 8, 2024

You might remember Connor from his cross-country state championship where he fell 6 times and still managed to win.

We talked about track vs. roads, training for the heat, goals going forward, and his hopes to 3-peat at The Waldoboro Day 5K this Saturday.

If you're into running, The Waldoboro Day 5K is a scenic route that just happens to be the only race that has a whoopie pie station.

Waldoboro Day 5K
The Waldoboro Day 5K is on Saturday June 15, 2024.

It's a lot of fun!

I've also figured out pricing for advertising on the podcast, so if you'd like to advertise your small business, basketball camp, or whatever, just email me for more information: mainebasketballrankings [at] gmail [dot] com

Also, you can add Illinois to the list of states that embrace the shot clock.

How many more states are we going to watch do this before we get it together?
