Holiday Hoops, Part Deux

It's day 2 of the Holiday Hoops schedules.

Holiday Hoops, Part Deux

The Game of the Day was a bit of a bust, as Fort Fairfield made short work of Katahdin.

The Model was pretty low on this on, so it's hardly a surprise.

At the Expo, the Freeport boys beat Cape (no score yet 🙄) to drop the Capers to 0-5. Naturally, this creates a tough road for Cape to make the tourney, which has been more or less assumed for a long time.

How long?

I went through the MPA's archives that go back to 1988. Assuming the rule that 2/3rd of teams get in (I'm not trying to remember some change in 1993 or whatever and I know there was that period of "everyone gets in", but...) Cape has made the tourney every year since 1988.

If you want the best look at the standings, you need to upgrade to the varsity plan (it's worth it!)

In other games around the state...

Brewer's Allie Flagg dropped 27 on Nokomis at the ACC...Mackenzie Robbins had 26 as Madison beat OOB at the ACC...Anna Oliver's 31 kept Hodgdon undefeated...Lilly Oliver had 25 points and 15 steals as Fort Kent crushed Easton...Hunter Hartsgrove's 35 led Katahdin over Fort Fairfield...Julissa McBarron had 26 in Sanford's win over Lewiston...Wisdom's Lilly Roy exploded for 42 against East Grand...Jahleel Joseph's 28 wasn't enough for Central Aroostook against Hodgdon...Peyton Reckards put up 19 & 20(!) in Temple's win over Islesboro...Jaxson Desjardins – who I think is in the 8th grade – carried on the family tradition with 23 for Forest Hills.

I made an update to the Scoreboard. Instead of a generic streaming icon, the icon now tells you where you're going. There's YouTube and NFHS (turns out they have an affiliate program) and other providers like WHOU, TicketTV, LCTV, Munzing Media, and more!

Check it out.

GNG is off to a 5-1 start, with their only loss coming to #6 Mt. Ararat. GNG is higher in the rankings by virtue of their harder schedule (33rd vs 40th).

The Heal Points have Mt. Ararat ahead of GNG, but I won't argue with you either way.

As for Wells, they're 5-1 with the loss coming at Greely.

They're fighting Oceanside for the 1 seed in B South.

The rest of today's games are after the jump.
