Whenever people complain about travel, I always like to bring up Vinalhaven. The defending champs play at 11:30 this morning in Augusta. So in all likelihood, they were on the first ferry off the island. It leaves at 7am. It’s a hour and 15 minute ferry ride to Rockland. Then, it’s another hour from Rockland to the ACC. That’s roughly the Presque Isle to Bangor trek, but without a ferry and they have to do that to go anywhere. Literally anywhere. Also, I don’t know if you’ve ever taken the ferry to Vinalhaven in February, but it’s cold. Really, really cold.
Anyway, they begin their title defense today.
