And Away We Go
We're starting the tourney a little early. But first we have to finish the regular season.

I'm going to make this quick, because I'm scrambling to get ready for the full slate of prelims and wasn't really planning on there being games today.
But there are!
We still have to finish the regular season, as Portland and Cheverus will make up the game delayed from last week. The game has zero impact on seeding.
Also: the MCI girls will travel to Erskine a day early to kick off the B North prelim round.
Some quick highlights from the last day of the regular season.
The Spruce boys had a big shooting night, knocking down a school-record 23 shots from distance.

TA's Emma Lizotte joined the 1,000 point club.
Congratulations to Emma Lizotte who tonight scored her 1,000th varsity point! She becomes the fifth Trojan to reach this amazing milestone. Congratulations on an incredible career for @Cheverus_Stags and TA! pic.twitter.com/EMRNKXBjbc

The Medomak girls hit their help points flush draw and passed Spruce for the 2 seed in B South. That's the highest they've been seeded since they were the 1 seed in 1978.
If you think your team had a tight finish, check out how close it was between the Woodland and Mount View girls for the 7 seed in C North.

I would not want to be sweating that.
Tourney Guides
The boys Tourney Guides are out. The girls versions are waiting for the Portland/Cheverus game to be played tonight and finish off the regular season
Anyway, this is what it looks like this year:

The Maine football community lost a legend.
We lost a great friend, coach and mentor. One of my first stories in Maine more than 30 years ago was on Lawrence Football and their legendary head coach Pete Cooper. I will miss our Friday night pregame talks at Bonny Eagle. Rest in peace coach. pic.twitter.com/nkJDAJH3ak

Included in there is your Mr. and Miss Basketball semifinalists.

Not a lot of choices today, so we'll head to China for the 7/10 prelim in B North Girls.
In a weird scheduling quirk, these teams played each other twice this year, on January 15th and 17th, with Erskine winning both games (by 7 and 26).
But MCI finished the season strong, winning 5 of their last 6.
Can they pull off the upset? Or will Erskine get the sweep and punch a ticket for Bangor and a date with Old Town?

The Model's picks for today's games are after the jump.
