Mattanawcook's Andrew Oliver goes off.

115, 53, 12

Let's start in Woodland, where Mattanawcook's Andrew Oliver was on a heater.

He scored 26 in the first quarter and had 40 at the half on 9/11(!!!) shooting from deep.

Oliver finished with 53 points on 12/17 shooting from 3 in three quarters. Mattanawcook's coach Adam Mahaney left him in to start the 4th for a shot at the 13th 3, but pulled him soon after.

Mattanawcook won 115-50, tying Buckfield for the highest scoring output of the year.

The Dirigo boys entered last night 0-3 in games decided in the final 3 seconds.

But Dakota White put an end to that.

It's a big win for Dirigo that vaults them into the 8 seed and that all-important home prelim.

Waynflete is done, so they can't catch them, but OOB might be able to.

Doing the math in my head, a win over St. Dom's would do the trick, but that's a tall order. A win over NYA means nothing. If you're Dirigo, you've got to feel pretty good about your chances.

We'll have a better idea when I run the Tourney Odds later today.

We haven't done this in a while. Let's go to Foxcroft Academy.

Yeah, that's a stall.

Foxcroft took roughly 3 minutes out of the game in the 2nd quarter and picked up a big win over Orono that might have punched their ticket to the Tournament, assuming MCI doesn't beat Lincoln Academy and hit a crazy help point parlay.

So when the shot clock debate resurfaces in the next couple weeks (you know it will) and people pull out the old defense that teams don't really stall, remember this. Because, yes, they really do. And it sucks.

Elsewhere

Isaiah Ervin scored 20 of his 41 points in the 4th quarter to lead Houlton past Fort Fairfield...Trenton Haskell had 21 and Buckfield held off a fourth quarter Wiscasset rally to finish the season 9-9...Jackson Newton's 20 points let Carrabec to a win over Telstar in overtime...Lawrence got 19 from Brayden Davidson in a win over Cony...Liana Hartwell had an 11 points, 11 steals, and 10 assists triple-double as Valley moved to 16-0 with a blowout win over Pine Tree...Aden Jeffers had 20 as Fort Kent blew out Wisdom...Lily Oliver had 24 as Fort Kent beat Wisdom.

Oh. My. God.

It's a miracle! Did we do it? Did we fix the dunk technical?

I'm guessing we did not.

Speaking of refs...

After a week of toxic fan behavior, this is heartwarming to see.

Dickie V is coming back!

With the snow this week, the schedule is a bit of a mess. Teams are moving games around to make sure they get them in. A lot of Thursday's game have already been moved to Wednesday. So it's going to be a bit of a moving target.

Also I'm calling a bit of an audible in the Game of the Day. It's supposed to be the Cony/Lawrence girls game, but we just did that and it didn't go well.

So let's go to the next game on the list and...oh boy.

The Erskine girls have the inside track on the 2 seed in B North and have the top scoring offense in Class B and lead Class B in scoring differential. They're having a really good year! And a not great week because, you know.

They'll visit a Mount View team that's trying to get the 4 seed in C North.

The Model's picks for the rest of today's games are after the jump.
